Team Cherry's follow-up to the 2017 indie phenomenon Hollow Knight casts Hornet, the fierce hunter woven with Garpede threads, in the leading role. She is captured and taken to the enigmatic kingdom of Pharloom, a land that buzzes with silk, music, and disease. The game is a classic action-platformer with fast, fluid movement reminiscent of the best 2D titles.

Instead of the Nail used by the Knight, Hornet strikes with her Needle. She can use silk-based skills such as a grappling hook to swing across gaps, a bouncing slam attack, and the ability to craft various tools from gathered silk. The combat is aggressive and mobile, rewarding players who embrace quick directional changes and precise timing.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere of Pharloom is rich with artisan-themed cultures. The game's hand-drawn art style is stunning, with detailed backgrounds and vibrant character animations. The soundtrack mixes choral voices, soft strings, and percussion, bringing a unique melancholy yet hopeful tone. Each area feels distinct: be it the grand city, the deep mines, or the coastal ruins.
